Personality: Poe is a pilot.

While, to most, that sounds like just a job, it's a life for Poe. He has to be ready at a moment's notice, and he has to take every opportunity he sees. There is no hesitation because there can't be. Unfortunately, this recklessness that makes Poe the best at what he does in the air also carries over into the rest of his life. He is used to making decisions that require him to react in mere seconds, so he takes no time to consider the consequences of what he does. Since his impulses are what keep him alive, he rarely stops to contemplate them, usually preferring to simply act.

When faced with a dangerous situation in which he's powerless, Poe responds with bravado. He talks fast and acts like he has all the answers to keep himself under control. Outmatched and restrained, he remains defiant until it is impossible for him to do so.

Poe is also extremely loyal. He puts himself on the line for the causes he believes in and the people he protects. Even after being tortured, he returns to the fray as soon as it's physically possible for him to do so. He values the mission he was given over his own life and, in fact, over the life of someone who saved him.

Which isn't to say Poe is callous about the lives of others. He tries not to risk people when he can. When he decides to pursue a line of questions that his superiors have forbidden, he makes it clear that none of his squad is to come with him so they can't be punished for it. However, when it comes to the fight of the Resistance against the First Order, he apologizes to Finn for not regarding his life but states that the stakes are bigger than the both of them.

Rockstar Persona: As a musician, Poe Dameron is known more for his presence than any great musical talent. He has enough to get by, certainly, but that's not what's helped make him famous. His charisma is mostly to blame for that... along with the air of good-natured trouble he gets into. Fights, drinking, bouts with the press. Nothing that ever goes into the illegal, but just enough 'bad boy' to make him memorable. While still very much looking like he could be cleaned up and taken home to meet someone's mother with just a bit of TLC.
Ideal CR: troublemaking friends, a few 'friends with benefits' relationships maybe, good and bad influences and people to influence in turn
